JEZEBELS IN THE PULPIT

1 Kings 16:31 And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

What is jezebel spirit? Jezebel spirit is the spirit behind all forms of controls, intimidations and manipulations. 

PRIDE: A jezebel spirit is a very proud and arrogant spirit. A jezebel takes his/her own glory, boasts in his/her works and full of the pride of life. In so many churches today, there are lots of jezebels in pulpits. Their heart desires are not to please the Lord and bring Him glory, but fame or to be a celebrity is their heart desire. They are ready to fight any pastor, any believer, any deacon, etc. who stands in the way of them exalting themselves. Any church member who notices errors/deceptions in their teachings and starts questioning them becomes their worst enemy, and they can do anything to destroy the person, humiliate or expel him/her from the local church.

WICKED & SELFISH: A jezebel spirit is a very wicked and selfish spirit. A jezebel is so terrible, very wicked, and acts like someone without conscience. It is these type of persons that the Apostle Paul said that their conscience are seared with hot iron "Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron (1 Timothy 4:2)". A jezebel can act unjustly and wickedly without feeling remorse at all. When a minister of the gospel turns against his wife with several children and impregnates another woman, and yet feel no single remorse, it's jezebel spirit in operation. When a minister of the gospel scams a church member who trusts him and render the person useless or shut down his business or company, and yet feel no remorse, it is a jezebel spirit in operation. And when you confront a jezebel, you need to be strong, influential or have God by your side, because jezebels are very deadly and can kill or destroy without feeling guilty or even remorse. 

ENEMIES OF TRUE PROPHETS: Jezebel spirit is the spirit behind most attacks against true ministers of God. Jezebel hates true prophets of God because true prophets exposes him/her. When jezebels notice that a true prophet/man of God has started seeing their true identity, or do not fear them, or can expose them at anytime, they tries anything possible to destroy, humiliate or discredit the man/woman of God. [1 Kings 18:4 Once when Jezebel had tried to kill all the LORD’s prophets, Obadiah had hidden 100 of them in two caves. He put fifty prophets in each cave and supplied them with food and water.]

Whenever you see a pastor/bishop fighting against true servants of God, it is a clear sign of a jezebel spirit. For example: One of them, out of fear of being exposed or humilated by a certain prophet, he/she called his/her church members together to discredit the prophet, calling him a ritualist, fraudster, etc. It is a clear sign of jezebel spirit. 

WISDOM IN CONFRONTING JEZEBEL: Yes, a believer should not fear. But when standing up against a jezebel spirit, whether in the pulpit, government, school, etc. You need to know your ground and stand in Christ Jesus and in His blood. Because these spiris are deadly. Even Elijah the mighty prophet of Jehovah at a point got depressed, fled for his life and requested to be out of this earth because of queen jezebel. 1 Kings 16:30 called Ahab the most evil king in the Bible because of jezebel (Ahab was the husband of queen Jezebel). 

Secondly, be sure to have strong proofs and evidences when confronting a jezebel publicly (except you are God's prophet and under the anointing, the anointing is your evidence). Because jezebels lives in denials, they can even deny themselves. Truth and honestly is their enemy except it is serves their own purpose. But generally, jezebels hates the truth, and even lies to themselves. A jezebel can create a false imagination declare it as a truth, and even ready to go to any extent to defend it.

Also, when you see leaders of a church preaching the truth and living a lie, it's hypocrisy which is a clear sign of jezebels in the pulpit. Flee from such leaders, for they are brood of vipers according to Matthew 3:7. 

FINALLY: Revelation 2:20 Yet I have this against you: You are permitting that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach my servants that sex sin is not a serious matter; she urges them to practice immorality and to eat meat that has been sacrificed to idols. 21 I gave her time to change her mind and attitude, but she refused. 22 Pay attention now to what I am saying: I will lay her upon a sickbed of intense affliction, along with all her immoral followers, unless they turn again to me, repenting of their sin with her; 23 and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches shall know that I am he who searches deep within men’s hearts, and minds; I will give to each of you whatever you deserve. (TLB)
